Elaine will discuss with you the care you are looking for and arrange for you, your partner, family etc to come in and meet the team in your child's prospective area. 

The Team Leader for your section will show you around the whole nursery and answer any queries you may have.  You will get a brief insight into the daily routine in your child's section and a chance to see the children that currently attend Kids Ahoy enjoying their day. 

Elaine will then discuss the exact care you may be requiring, discuss our fees and answer any other queries you may have.

Settling Your Child into Kids Ahoy

At Kids Ahoy we want to make leaving your child in our care the best possible experience for both of you and with this in mind we have a “Settling In Procedure”.  Once you have decided you wish to enrol your child at Kids Ahoy we will arrange for you to make settling in visits.  These visits are at your discretion and are designed for you and your child to be able to start forming a relationship with the staff and other children in the section.

Our usual recommendation is to start the visits one month before the expected start date, visits are usually for 1 hour each time and you may come as many times as you feel necessary up to 6 hours.  If you feel your child may take longer to settle, then you may start visits earlier.

On the first visit we ask you to stay with your child and play, the second visit you may leave your child for 15 minutes.  On subsequent visits you may extend the time you leave your child until the full hour is achieved. 

If you feel that your child is experiencing difficulties being left, the staff will be only too happy to assist you.

Admissions are on a first come first served basis, although we do operate a waiting list.

Given that there are a finite number of children that can be accommodated in specific age groups at any given time; we give priority to children already in the nursery to progress to the next age band whenever a vacancy occurs. This is to allow continuity and minimise disruption to the child.
