Established in 1998, our journey with Kids Ahoy Childcare began as a small soft play facility with two aims: to create a safe and happy space where children could play, explore and grow and parents could come together to share knowledge. Over the past 25 years, this vision has evolved into what we are today - two well-established nurseries, including one town centre nursery, Kids Ahoy and our unique forest setting, Land Ahoy.

We provide high-quality childcare for children aged 3 months to 12 years, offering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is supported in their development. We believe strongly in outdoor pedagogy, with our forest-based nursery giving children aged 3-12 years rich opportunities to learn through exploration, play and receive the invaluable benefits nature offers. We also place the utmost importance on providing intentional and responsive care for our youngest children aged 0–3 in our town nursery, where we have developed a rich outdoor learning environment within our garden.

Our practice is child-centred and child-led, rooted in children’s rights and guided by curiosity, respect and kindness. Our skilled practitioners form a close-knit team who value continuous professional development (CPD) and strive for ongoing improvement. With small group sizes and high staff-to-child ratios we ensure high-quality and individualised care for every child.
